Modified Rules for U9/U11 Games
All rules comply with USSF Laws of the Games except for these modifications that have been approved and adopted by Great Lakes Coed Soccer League
Modifications to U9
Number of players: 6 for each team
Length of halves: 25 minutes
Offside: No
Direct free kicks: No, except for the kickoff and corner kicks
Substitutions: may be made on all out of bounds stoppages at the discretion of the referee. No substitutions on stoppages resulting from rule infractions
Heading: No – this includes intentional and unintentional heading. Restart will be an indirect free kick to the opposing team
Modifications to U11
Number of players: 8 for each team
Length of halves: 30 minutes
Offside: Yes
Direct free kicks: Yes, in accordance with the Laws of the Games
Substitutions: no modifications
Heading: No – this includes intentional and unintentional heading. Restart will be an indirect free kick to the opposing team
